Small servo motors. Travel speeds of up to 900 millimetres per second are possible with the new "short-stroke dynamic" variant of the Cyber Dynamic Line from Wittenstein cyber motor. It is available for all four sizes of industrial small servo motors with integrated spindle.

The entire series of small servomotors with integrated spindle is designed for highly dynamic positioning axes of machines and for assembly situations with limited installation space. By modifying the ball screw drive, Wittenstein has optimized the new variant specifically for fast movements of up to 50 millimetres. With travel speeds of up to 900 millimetres per second, this series can replace pneumatic cylinders even in highly dynamic applications, making machining processes better, safer and more economically efficient. In contrast to pneumatics, the small servomotors not only enable simple integration into the higher-level control system, but also precise control of positioning processes - without the need to retool the machine in the event of a format change. Another advantage of servo technology is its leakage protection and higher energy efficiency during operation. Small servo motors with integrated spindles are virtually maintenance-free and quiet.

All variants of the small servomotors with integrated spindle in sizes with an outer diameter of 17, 22, 32 or 40 millimetres enable highly installation-optimized mounting solutions. To this end, the manufacturer has designed the servo motor, the spindle drive, the linear guide and the encoder system as a closed, highly integrated and ready-to-install unit - which also reduces the mass inertia compared to servo motors with an attached spindle, for example. Wittenstein has attached great importance to a design that is consistently suitable for industrial use. The complete drive is housed in a robust stainless steel housing with IP54 protection and can be used in any installation position.

The small servo motors with integrated spindle can be configured with Simco drive servo controllers to create powerful small servo axes that meet the highest dynamic requirements of short-stroke applications. This results in solutions with versatile connectivity options: integration into higher-level control systems is possible via Canopen, Ethercat, Profinet RT/IRT, Ethernet/IP and now also Sercos. At the same time, the system solution from a single source avoids all forms of interface risks.

Typical applications include positioning, feeding, joining, bending, gripping or dosing in forming and handling technology, in the semiconductor industry, in packaging machines and in assembly automation. In the stainless steel version with protection class IP 65, all fully integrated linear actuators can also be used in wet areas of systems for the production, packaging and filling of food and beverages. pb
