After fifty years as part of the SKF Group, SKF Motion Technologies (SMT) was acquired by Triton Partners in December 2018. Now the linear technology specialists are taking the next step and presenting their new name and brand identity.

From now on, the linear technology specialists will operate as Ewellix: Makers in Motion. The company will continue to focus on its core areas. These include industrial automation, medical technology, mobile applications and continuous expansion with its sales partners.

In addition to the further development of linear components, smart sensor technologies and their analysis are expected to bring added value for users. The Ewellix Group has nine production centers in Europe, North America and Asia as well as 16 sales locations worldwide and employs more than 1,400 people. "This gives us a solid foundation on which to build," says Daniel Westberg, CEO of Ewellix. "As we want to develop from a pure product supplier to a provider of customer-specific linear technology solutions, we are planning to expand our global presence even further. For example, we are currently establishing new customer centers in Hungary and India."

At the same time, Ewellix is focusing on developing solutions for its customers' current and future challenges. "After 50 years as part of the SKF Group, we can look back on a long and special tradition as a linear technology manufacturer and partner to our customers," explains Daniel Westberg. "We are also committed to this tradition under our new name. In future, we will offer a unique combination of engineering skills, application knowledge and product technologies. Substantial investments support this in order to achieve our common and ambitious goal: To develop innovative linear technology solutions with which our customers can further increase their productivity, performance, energy efficiency and profitability."

Ewellix works closely with customers in the automation industry to develop practical solutions. These include, for example, integrated systems that extend the reach of collaborative robots. The company is also working on replacing fluid technology with electromechanical solutions. These offer better performance, reliability, energy efficiency and safety. "Equally important, however, are our agility and customer focus. As an independent company, we can now respond even better to the needs of our customers," says the CEO and is convinced: "With our new brand and the support of Triton Partners, we are developing a company with an exciting and successful future."

"The launch of Ewellix is the start of a new journey for the company. We have a proud heritage, a very strong team and an innovative product range," says Swen Wenig, Managing Director of Ewellix Germany. "As Ewellix, we are now more independent and flexible. In addition, we have more freedom at a local level for innovation, new thinking, new business models and the focused use of our experience and resources. This enables us to help our customers develop ever more effective solutions to the challenges facing the industry today and in the future."
