SEW at INDUSTRIAL production + handling
Servo motor series automates gantry systems
Modern production systems meet high technical requirements and ensure reliable production processes. The automation of transport and handling tasks increases the efficiency of such systems. SEW-Eurodrive supports Fibro Läpple Technology with drive and control technology for the automation of gantry systems.
The new CM3C servomotor series from SEW-Eurodrive complements the CMP.. series with higher inertia motors. The CMP.. is the sprinter, which was developed with low inertia and very high overload capacity for extremely dynamic applications.
By increasing the rotor diameter, the CM3C has a significantly increased mass moment of inertia and therefore offers control-related advantages in applications that are themselves characterized by high moments of inertia or large moving masses. This motor series is available in sizes 63S to 100L and continuous stall torques from 2.7 Nm to 40 Nm. Another feature of the innovative CM3C... motor design is the significant increase in the corner speed. This means that maximum acceleration can be maintained over a much wider speed range.
When designing the motors, FLT also took care to ensure that the drive remains quiet even when used on 4 kHz axes, so that there is no unacceptable noise level even when operating many motors on one system. FLT requires several motor sizes for the gantry, each with adapted torques. For example, CM3C100L motors with 40 Nm continuous standstill torque are used for the travel axis and a space-optimized CM3C80L with 22.8 Nm continuous standstill torque for the lifting axis.
