Servo motor
For high external loads
SEW is adding servomotors for high external loads to its Movi-C modular automation system. The new CM3C series comprises sizes 63, 71, 80 and 100. The motors have stall torques of 2.4 to 38.5 Newton meters.
This compact servomotor series with increased mass inertia is used in machines and applications where a low ratio of load inertia to motor inertia is required for control reasons. The new series is also available in single-cable technology as an option. This enables extensive digital integration. When the motors are connected to SEW inverters, automatic commissioning is carried out automatically. The encoder signals are transmitted digitally and the brake control is also digital with the option of brake status monitoring.
The Bruchsal-based manufacturer also points out the availability of two brake versions. In addition to the servo-type 24-volt holding brake, there is also a brake with increased working capacity for applications in which service braking or emergency braking must be mastered. Typical areas of application are machine automation, handling portals and chassis drives. The CM3C servo motor series will be available from spring 2019. as
