Precision safety clutch
For difficult cold conditions
At temperatures far below freezing, machines and their components reach their limits. Nevertheless, machine failures due to cold embrittlement of materials, for example in cold chambers or in countries with low temperatures, should be avoided, as such failures are associated with high costs.
The SK2 safety coupling from R+W Antriebselemente is made of hardened steel and highly flexible stainless steel as standard and can withstand temperatures from -30° to +120° Celsius. The installation-friendly torsionally rigid coupling works according to the patented backlash-free principle and is characterized by a very low moment of inertia.
Versions with angle-synchronous re-engagement, disengaging, locked or freewheeling design are available. The quick cut-off within 1-3 msec and the long switching travel when the clutch engages ensure optimum protection of the driveline.
Thanks to this combination of high-quality materials and the clever safety function, the SK2 safety clutch enables a smooth production process even under extreme conditions such as icy cold.
The connection with the two clamping hubs enables simple installation in confined installation spaces. The standard torque transmission ranges from 0.1 to 1,800 Nm - higher torques on request and in cooperation with the experienced R+W engineers.
