Servo drive controller

Positioning in tight spaces

The compact CMMT-ST servo drive controller from Festo is the little brother of the CMMT-AS. The small CMMT-ST is suitable for continuous power requirements up to 300 watts and saves a lot of installation space with its compact design.

The CMMT-ST is based on the same platform as the CMMT-AS and enables demanding dynamic movements for small servomotors and all stepper motors with requirements of up to 300 watts of continuous power. It therefore requires less cooling than its big brother with a power capacity of 2.5 kilowatts and requires half the installation space. It is particularly suitable for various Ethernet-based bus systems and can be seamlessly integrated directly into the system environments of control systems from different manufacturers. It works optimally in conjunction with the EMMS-ST stepper motor from Festo.

Fast commissioning
With the Automation Suite, users can commission the CMMT-ST in just a few minutes, according to Festo. More compact and less expensive than its big brother CMMT-AS, the connection and communication concept, function blocks and standard safety remain the same. The identical concept allows users to combine CMMT-AS and CMMT-ST as servo drives for large and small axes.

The company's free Automation Suite is the central software within the constantly expanding automation platform, which includes products and solutions from mechanics to the cloud. It combines parameterization, programming and maintenance of electrical automation components in one program. It can be used to easily commission the entire drive package, from the mechanics to the control system.

End-to-end connectivity
The CMMT-ST servo drive controller is a building block in Festo's philosophy of end-to-end connectivity, connectivity from the workpiece to the cloud, from mechanical connections via electrical interfaces to commissioning and control programming. In this way, the company aims to make the work of machine builders and automation engineers easier by connecting mechanical systems, electrical drive technology and the control level with all its interfaces in hardware and software. as
