In a machine, they automatically move the guide rails, tools or even inspection cameras to the correct position when converting to a new format. With speeds of up to 1,000 revolutions per minute, these compact drives (Nema 17 and 23) are suitable for frequent adjustment of machine axes with small batch sizes. The following options are available from the supplier for optimum integration of the direct drives into the machine: The system is mounted directly on the spindle using a hollow shaft with integrated torque support; there is no need for a coupling. A gearbox optimally matched to the requirements offers more torque of up to eight Newton meters. Thanks to two different alignment options for the connector plugs, they can be integrated without angled plugs. The housing for the hollow shaft and/or gearbox is also supplied mounted in four possible directions of rotation. The absolute measuring system without battery saves the reference run before positioning and requires no additional maintenance. The PSD direct drives also offer further advantages with control via an IO-Link interface. pb
