Thanks to innovative new products and extensive investments - the largest in the company's history to date - the northern German family business was able to increase its turnover by around 18% in 2021 compared to the previous year and thus further expand its market position. Customers can also look forward to innovative and advanced drive solutions in 2022.

Last year, Nord Drivesystems launched four products that set new standards in the industry. One milestone is the patented DuoDrive. The innovative geared motor integrates a highly efficient IE5+ synchronous motor into the housing of a single-stage helical gearbox, setting new standards in terms of efficiency, installation space and variant reduction. The new decentralized frequency inverter Nordac On as well as the additional sizes of the IE5+ synchronous motor and the control cabinet inverter Nordac Pro SK 500P were also developed with a focus on maximum customer benefit and energy efficiency and ensure significant performance increases in their application areas. As many trade fairs were canceled in 2021, the products were presented in digital format. The live presentations are now to be rescheduled for 2022.

The largest investments in the company's history to date

Last year, Nord Drivesystems invested in locations and logistics. For example, a new high-bay warehouse was put into operation in Germany to ensure even faster and safer deliveries to customers. In Poland, a new motor plant was built and a plant expansion realized. Production capacity was also expanded in the USA, and the go-ahead was given for a new production plant in China. The completion of a new administration building at the headquarters in Bargteheide is planned for this year. The investments made in 2021 were the largest in the company's history within a single year.

In 2021, Nord Drivesystems generated sales of 870 million euros and employed around 4,700 people. This represents a significant increase in the number of employees in the Nord Group. Sales increased by around 18 percent compared to the previous year. This positive economic development was made possible not least by forward-looking investments, high innovative strength, good solution expertise, a global presence and broad diversification across many industries and regions.

Outlook 2022

Nord Drivesystems is looking ahead to 2022 with confidence. "We want to continue to grow as a company in 2022 and are constantly developing new products in collaboration with our customers. We are making great efforts to ensure that the global supply chains work and are doing everything we can to serve our existing and future customers in the best possible way," says Gernot Zarp, Managing Director Sales at Nord Drivesystems. Further investments in products and infrastructure are planned for 2022. Among other things, the industrial gearbox portfolio will be significantly expanded.
