Servo geared motors
No adapter required
With the new generation of planetary servo gearboxes, Stöber presents particularly compact drives. Each motor series can be mounted directly in any available size.
In the third generation of its servo geared motors, Stöber has significantly reduced the overall length. All motors, such as the EZ series or the encoderless lean motors, can be mounted directly - in any desired size - without an adapter. With this compactness, the user benefits from a smaller installation space, lower weight, high torque and, as a result, an increase in power density of up to 65 percent. Due to the lower mass moment of inertia resulting from the elimination of the motor adapter, the full dynamics of the drive can also be utilized. The manufacturer also refers to the quality of the housing and gearing, which ensure high acceleration torques as well as running accuracy and precision. Users benefit from a 60 percent increase in acceleration torque, a 45 percent increase in speed and an increase in torsional rigidity of up to 50 percent.
The electronic nameplate speeds up commissioning of the drive controller and control unit.
The new generation of planetary gearboxes also makes a wide range of options possible. The gearboxes can not only be combined with different direct-mounted motors, but also with all third-party motors in any size using variable adapters. The drive specialist also offers a unique interface technology: the motor adapters are available with different couplings and in the Servostop version with an integrated brake; the adapters can also be combined with standard or reduced-backlash gearboxes. In particular, the large version of the Stöber adapter with extra-large motor plate enables the connection of the most compact gearboxes with very large motors - a unique selling point.
Depending on the application, the appropriate bearing arrangement can be selected from deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings or angular contact bearings. These friction-optimized bearings generally enable higher speeds. Thanks to the wide range of variants, design engineers have all the options they need to put together the right drive solution for every application.
Another special feature of the new generation is the electronic nameplate. Each geared motor - in combination with the Stöber electronics - automatically sends its own electronically and mechanically relevant data to the associated drive controllers via plug and play during commissioning. The geared motors are thus clearly identified. There is no need for time-consuming, error-prone parameterization, which shortens the overall system configuration.
