New engine in 20 power variants
Nord Drivesystems has introduced a new motor: the Universal Motor with 20 variants in the power range from 0.12 to 45 kW.
The Universal Motor is CE, UL, CSA, CCC, ISI and EAC certified and meets the relevant minimum efficiency requirements, making it suitable for markets in Europe, USA, Canada, Russia, China, India and elsewhere. It is also certified by Bureau Veritas for marine and offshore applications. The motor is labeled with four standard operating voltages: 380 V 50 Hz, 400 V 50 Hz, 415 V 50 Hz and 460 V 60 Hz; operation at 440 V 60 Hz and 480 V 60 Hz is also possible.
The robust universal motors are available in IEC sizes from 63 to 225 as a foot motor (B3), flange motor (B5 or B14) and, for compatibility with the US market, as a NEMA-C flange or NEMA foot motor. The motor can also be mounted directly on Nord gearboxes, providing a compact, more powerful drive solution. The models are equipped with a temperature sensor as standard. They comply with protection class IP55 and are designed in thermal class 155 (F).
Other options available for the universal motor are Motor connectors, single or double canopies, standstill heating, mechanical brake and forced cooling fan. If necessary, the motor housings can also be designed with protection class IP66; they are then dust-tight and protected against heavy seas or strong jets of water.
