Automation and digitalization portfolio at the HMI
Interaction on the machine
Weidmüller is showcasing its automation and digitalization portfolio in Hanover. Stand-alone machines, for example carton erectors, can perform their function independently and without being connected to a higher-level system and can therefore be used variably.
This requires decentralized automation solutions that enable autonomous control of the machine. With u-mation's modular hardware and software portfolio, decentralized control applications can be implemented efficiently and conveniently. For the main controller of a stand-alone machine, the u-remote fieldbus coupler is simply replaced by the u-control 2000 controller and the controller is combined with the u-create studio engineering software. The Codesys-based software is used to configure and control stand-alone machines on the basis of internationally proven standards. This gives u-create studio a decisive advantage in the flexible, modular programming of automation solutions. In addition, the open Linux architecture enables the installation of individual software modules as well as simple diagnostics and 3D simulation of the machines.
The u-control 2000 controller is based on the compact design of the fieldbus coupler from the u-remote family - and can replace it one-to-one. This saves space and makes it flexible for individual automation applications. U-control 2000 is compatible with the various components of the u-mation portfolio and offers, for example, the option of connecting u-remote I/O modules directly. Together, the u-create studio engineering tool and the u-control 2000 controller form a powerful automation solution for parameterizing and controlling stand-alone machines. pb
