Servo drives

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Integrated intelligence for condition monitoring

The compact servo drives from ebm-Papst are suitable for decentralized applications in production and assembly automation, handling systems and industrial robots.

In the manufacturer's modular drive system, EC motors can be flexibly combined with integrated encoders, gearboxes and brakes and thus used for various applications.

At the heart of all configurations is a brushless, electronically commutated internal rotor motor. The rotor position is detected via integrated Hall sensors and controlled via external controllers. Thanks to the integrated intelligence in the controller, the drive can be freely programmed. The drive solutions therefore support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The previous range of motors with a diameter of 42 mm and up to 100 W has now been supplemented by motors with a diameter of 63 mm in the power range up to 400 W and will be presented at Motek.
