IE3 asynchronous motors in optimized version

Nord Drivesystems has optimized the design of its IE3 asynchronous motors. Numerous details as well as the function, installation and operation of the electric motors have been revised.

The electrical data and mechanical dimensions remain unchanged in the facelift of the IE3 asynchronous motors from Getriebebau Nord, so they can be used seamlessly in any existing application with Nord IE3 motors without any adjustments. The optimized cooling fin shape, a mounting-optimized fan and a new fan cover in a modern design ensure better heat dissipation and mounting. The fan cover is also easy to install when using a motor-mounted frequency inverter.

The new cooling fin design results in a flowing airflow around the terminal box. The redesigned terminal box no longer has pronounced corners and edges and reinforced feet provide the motors with better stability. Another important detail is the optimized incremental encoder attachment. The encoder is fully protected against impacts by the fan cover and is no longer in the air flow, which further increases the cooling capacity. It can also be retrofitted thanks to a slip-on shaft.
