Hybrid stepper motor

Dwarf with a huge performance

At just 16 millimeters wide, the Nema 6 hybrid stepper motor from Lin Engineering is one of the smallest of its kind and has four times the holding torque and five times the precision of comparable conventional stepper motors.

Thanks to these properties, the stepper is suitable for all applications with minimal installation space, for example in medical technology or laboratory technology. A-Drive configures the motor in close cooperation with the manufacturer to suit every application. Lin Engineering has increased the step angle of the Nema 6 from the usual 1.8 to 3.46 degrees, so that the drive achieves a holding torque of 13.06 millinewton meters, which is around twice as high as comparable stepper motors. Compared to standard stepper motors of the same size with permanent magnets, the Nema 06 even offers four times the holding torque. The miniature stepper also surpasses the performance of conventional stepper motors of the same size in terms of accuracy: while these only deliver a resolution of 20 steps per revolution, the Nema 06 achieves 104 - at a good 8,000 revolutions per minute. This makes the stepper a good choice for miniature pumps, throttles, optical sensor controls, pinch valves or electronic pipettes, for example.

The Nema 6 makes applications possible that previously failed due to either the size of the motor or its inadequate performance. As these applications usually involve sensitive devices or systems, precise and professional configuration of the stepper motor is essential. The specialists at A-Drive modify the stepper in close coordination with Lin Engineering to meet the customer's individual requirements. pb
