Bonfiglioli
Heavy-duty gearbox for mammoth project in Australia
Italian drive specialist Bonfiglioli has announced a collaboration with Australian engineering firm Kilic Engineering for a major grain transportation project in Adelaide, Australia.
In this project, in which very large quantities of grain products are handled, the grain is first delivered by truck and dropped into double hoppers. The grain is then transported to silos and finally to a large transport ship via a boom conveyor. This boom conveyor is a very long conveyor system that leads from the land to the port of shipment and then into the ship. Every hour, 1,000 tons of grain are transported to a 24,000-ton silo storage facility.
Kilic Engineering was looking for a reliable partner with a strong local presence for this mammoth project. On-site service was very important to the engineering company. Bonfiglioli, which has been represented in Australia and New Zealand for over 31 years, was the right partner for this major project with its HDO and HDP heavy-duty gearboxes. The Italian drive specialist is now supplying four gearboxes for the conveyor belts and two bucket elevator gearboxes for the project, all of which are produced at the Bonfiglioli plant in Sydney.
If high torque, robustness, reliability and a long service life are required, the HDx series from Bonfiglioli is the right choice. With its low maintenance costs and long maintenance intervals for operation, it is suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions and in potentially explosive atmospheres. The output shaft is available in a parallel (HDP) or right-angled (HPO) design, so that minimum installation space can be ensured in either case. as
