External rotor motor

Motor for AGVs

Maccon has introduced the XR-15 family of flat brushless DC motors as external rotors. This series from the English manufacturer Printed Motor Works has a short axial length and is suitable for tight installation spaces.

In external rotor motors, the rotor rotates around the stator and can therefore be used as a drive wheel by attaching a rubber lining to the rotor. Another advantage: As the rotor magnets are further away from the center of rotation than with internal rotor motors, there is a torque gain - quadratic to the radial increase. The torque density of these motors is further increased by the pole winding of the stator teeth. The motors are equipped with an integrated optical encoder (angle measuring system). Nominal torques of up to eight Newton meters and nominal speeds of up to 450 revolutions per minute are possible. pb
