DC servo motor
Even more compact, even faster
The 1645 ... BHS brushless DC servomotor from Faulhaber extends the BHx series with a diameter of 16 millimeters with a more compact version that is only 45 millimeters long.
The BHx series consists of gapless, brushless high-performance motors in two-pole technology with a diameter of 16 millimetres. At around 100,000 revolutions per minute, the new 1645 ... BHS variant achieves a higher speed than motors of this size previously available on the market, according to the manufacturer. It also has top values for maximum radial load (18 Newtons), power density (58.5 watts) and torque (eight millinewton meters). With a suitable planetary gearbox, the motor can already deliver a high torque of 800 millinewton meters at 12,000 revolutions per minute.
The 1645 ... BHS also has an efficiency of 90 percent, minimal heat generation and vibration allow it to operate with low power consumption. It achieves its short response time thanks to low values for mechanical start-up time constant and rotor moment of inertia as well as fast angular acceleration. Together with the flat slope of the n/M characteristic curve (429 min-1/mNm), this results in optimum running behavior of the motor, which therefore follows fluctuating power requirements without delay.
Digital Hall sensors are integrated; an integrated incremental encoder is available as a special version. A wide range of connection components - speed and motion controller, control unit, gearbox - is available for different types of application. Thanks to its robust, compact design, the motor is particularly suitable for demanding applications where space is at a premium. Typical applications include electric grippers, small handpieces, robotic systems, laboratory automation or mechatronic instruments of all kinds.
Where a little more space is available, the "big brothers" of the 1645 ... BHS, the 1660 ... BHS and BHT series, can also be used. They also have top performance figures in their size class. Both variants are optimized for high speed (BHS) and high torque (BHT). as
