In the food and packaging industry, efficient material flow and rapid handling of goods within the production process are essential. To ensure that production does not come to a standstill, powerful and reliable drives are required that are specially tailored to the conveyor technology in this area. Groschopp develops robust servo drives and three-phase AC housing motors - suitable for the respective application.
"The packaging industry is an extremely broad field - the requirements of our customers are correspondingly diverse," explains Christian Skaletz, Product Manager at Groschopp. Classic applications in packaging and conveyor technology include the positioning of sausage slices in displays or the dosing of color when coloring confectionery.
Depending on the application, different demands on the performance, control and design of the drive must be taken into account. For example, AC housing motors from the IGK/IGL series from the manufacturer's portfolio are often used for simple conveying tasks, such as transporting dough pieces and other baked goods. Highly dynamic applications, on the other hand, require precise and powerful servo drives such as those from Groschopp's EGK family. In harsh and dirty environments, a protective coating or a stainless steel and chemical-resistant drive solution from the company's ESK series can be useful. By integrating a controller, the wiring effort is reduced to a minimum and the high protection class IP69K can be achieved.
"Basically, you can say that our motors are particularly robust, compact and durable, making them ideal for packaging technology," concludes Christian Skaletz. "As we offer them in a hygienic design with smooth surfaces, without corners and edges, they can also be cleaned particularly effectively and safely."
