Gearbox solution
Drifts around the corner
Dunkermotoren responded to the rail industry's call for an efficient gearbox technology that could meet the relevant service life requirements with the KG 90. This gearbox solution with a right-angled output is now also available for other applications.
As the name suggests, the KG 90 is a bevel gearbox. Its special feature is the low-cost production of the gearing parts and the combination with the widely used PLG 52 planetary gearbox, which allows the reduction ratio to be adapted to the application almost at will. The bevel gear stage deflects the force at a 90-degree angle and is also the output, which can be loaded with torques of eight Newton meters (continuous), 16 Newton meters (acceleration) and 24 Newton meters (emergency stop). Due to the output being turned at right angles to the motor axis, the drive is very short in use, which makes it suitable not only for use in train doors. Another positive effect on the required installation space is the axis offset-free design typical of bevel gearboxes (intersecting axes). pb
