More torque
DC flat motors in new dimensions
More and more applications in the fields of robotics, prosthetics, medical or aircraft technology require a high torque with a short overall length. Faulhaber has therefore introduced the flat brushless DC motor family BXT.
Due to the winding technology and optimized design, the motors are only 14, 16 and 21 millimetres long, but deliver torques of up to 134 millimnewton metres with a diameter of 22, 32 and 42 millimetres respectively. They are designed for a continuous output power of up to 100 watts and, according to the manufacturer, exceed the standards of this drive class, particularly with regard to the ratio of torque to length, volume and weight, which benefits applications where space is limited.
The new series is equipped with digital Hall sensors as standard. It is designed for speeds of up to 10,000 revolutions per minute and can be combined with various gearboxes, encoders, brakes and control units from the Faulhaber range. The company specializes in modifications to the mechanical and electrical interfaces of the motors and can therefore offer solutions that are individually configured for each application. The motors have single wires as standard and therefore offer a flexible electrical interface with several industrial connectors. as
