Pneumatic braking system
Caliper brake from the construction kit
KTR presents the KTR-STOP PB pneumatic caliper brake. It can be used as a service or holding brake and is available in seven sizes and braking forces of up to 31 kilonewtons.
Areas of application include drive technology, automation, packaging machines and test bench technology. The brake consists of two levers that are pivoted in the caliper housing. At one end of the levers are the pads with brake shoe and retaining springs, at the other end is the actuator - the brake cylinder; this is where the return springs and the armature plate are mounted.
Clamping takes place according to the "action equals reaction" principle - only one actuator is required to apply the brake. As an active brake, the clamping force is generated by applying compressed air to the actuator; the return springs are used to release the brake. As a passive brake, the clamping force is generated by compression springs in the actuator; the brake is released by applying compressed air to the actuator.
