External rotor with integrated electronics
Allied Motion has introduced the Kinetimax 42 EB - a high-precision brushless DC motor as an external rotor with integrated electronics, where EB stands for "Electronic on Board".
The 42 mm flange-sized external rotor motor joins the series between the 24, 32, 54 and 68 mm diameter sizes and, at 54 mm long and 225 grams, is the shortest and lightest EB motor with integrated electronics in its size. According to the manufacturer, the motor also achieves an efficiency of up to 80 percent. This also includes the efficiency of the internal motor electronics. Thanks to an improved bearing system, the motor can handle high radial forces of up to 60 N (force application point 15 mm from the flange). A minimum service life of 20,000 hours is achieved thanks to a thermal system and connection of the electronics to the bearing unit. The external rotor achieves an output torque of 70 mNm at a constant speed of 4,300 rpm. This unit therefore achieves an output power of 31 watts in continuous operation. Thanks to the analog setpoint input from 0 to 7 volts of the integrated drive electronics, the motor speed can be regulated in the range from 150 to 5,000 rpm. This unit also meets all EMC standards in accordance with EN 55014-1/2, 61000-6-1/3 and is available with a power supply of 12 and 24 VDC. sw
