Actuating cylinders for high forces

Diakont, a specialist manufacturer in the field of linear electric drive technology, is launching the DA76, a compact actuating cylinder with a peak force of 4,900 newtons and a length of just 140 millimetres.

The DA76 is equipped with an inverted roller screw spindle driven by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Integrated in a housing, the compact unit meets the highest demands in terms of performance, accuracy and reliability. Together with all actuators in the DA series, the DA76 actuating cylinder offers high temperature resistance, making it suitable for demanding applications such as injection molding and hot runner systems. The manufacturer specifies a working stroke of 20 millimetres and a travel speed of 83 millimetres per second.

Compared to other actuators based on ball screws, the DA76 can therefore provide considerable forces. The properties of the roller screw give the actuator a long service life. It can be controlled by most commercially available servo amplifiers for brushless DC motors. Diakont actuators are distributed in Germany by the company Maccon. pb
