Blechexpo 2019
Kjellberg welding technology with special equipment
At the Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal working, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will be focusing not only on new developments but also on tried-and-tested special equipment for a wide range of welding processes aimed at improving the welding result for the user.
As a supplier of equipment for mechanized and automated welding processes, Kjellberg Finsterwalde will be showcasing its proven, process-oriented solutions for high-performance welding processes such as InFocus TIG technology, PTA welding and submerged arc solutions at this year's trade fair stand. Practical examples such as seam tracking using a laser sensor on an I-joint with a technical zero gap and torch distance control will be used to demonstrate directly on site how tailor-made welding workstations and consequently smooth, efficient operating processes can be realized.
Individually manufactured trailing gas nozzles for optimum gas protection in the welding process
Oscar PLT, the research company of the Kjellberg Group, will also be presenting individually manufactured trailing gas nozzles for the first time in Stuttgart, which are produced using additive manufacturing processes: The gas nozzles, which are adapted to the application, can thus be designed for any welding torch and also for complex-shaped components - what they all have in common is optimum gas protection, which is achieved by using various methods of flow analysis.
Background: Bright weld seams with high strength, which are visually and metallurgically flawless as well as efficient in execution, require high-quality gas protection - not only in the process area, but also in the downstream temperature field on the workpiece. This is why trailing gas nozzles are used for trailing gas protection in a large number of welding applications, particularly on oxidation-sensitive materials such as high-alloy steels or titanium. Due to the large selection of different welding torches for a wide range of component geometries, self-made solutions are often used in practice. However, these are not always appropriate in terms of gas protection and are ultimately very cost-intensive for the welding company.
At the trade fair, trailing gas nozzles made of aluminum, stainless steel and copper for pipe and longitudinal seam welding applications will be presented on various welding torches. The variants for integration into existing automation environments will be demonstrated at the stand using the InFocus high-performance TIG process.
Laser deposition welding with Kjellberg's ProFocus
The coaxial direct diode laser ProFocus will complete the trade fair presence from November 5. With 1kW laser power and six individual beams, ProFocus is one of the innovative solutions for laser cladding and is used in additive manufacturing, for repair welding and coating applications - with complete flexibility for cladding with powder or wire materials. Compared to other generative processes, the user has the freedom to decide individually on the type of filler material and to change it within seconds. Successful projects include repair welding of impellers and reconditioning of tools such as blades and chipping tools.
