The WXsmart is aimed in particular at electronics developers in industries where connectivity, security and traceability are highly valued, especially in the fields of medical technology, automotive engineering, aerospace technology and solar energy. The WXsmart is the first soldering station to use TLS encryption and two-factor authentication to guarantee protection against cyber attacks and data skimming in sensitive industries.

Used as a central unit, the WXsmart allows multiple users with different requirements for the device. The spectrum can range from classic standard users to R&D departments and repair shops. The station supports all soldering applications, including high precision pico soldering, general purpose micro soldering, high performance ultra soldering, rework, desoldering and hot air soldering, and the WXsmart can control multiple devices and processes simultaneously, including fume extraction, preheat plate and solder bath. Also supported is Weller's new WXair two-in-one rework module, which offers an air and a vacuum channel.

Complete process control is guaranteed from the soldering iron to the soldering station. New intelligent soldering tips with integrated chips enable very fast heat-up - typically in around 3 seconds - automatic tip identification, integrated data storage and individual serial numbers for complete traceability as well as tip offset and locking functions. The new soldering iron range includes WXMPS MS and WXUPS MS (MIL-SPEC) T0052923599 compliant specifications.

WLAN, LAN, USB and two RS232 ports offer a comprehensive range of fast connectivity options. Support forIoT and Industry 4.0 standards enables easy remote control via mobile communication devices with full traceability and integration into existing ERP systems.Weller's Smart Control app provides a real-time dashboard for PCs, smartphones and tablets.

Thanks to the WXsmart's high-precision Weller temperature measuring unit, robust auto-calibration takes less than ten seconds, and the station's other advantages include digital data extracts for quality management and audits, full traceability of the calibration process and automatic tip offset.

The WXsmart is backwards compatible with previously used soldering, desoldering and hot air tips and tools, and its safety features include a heat-resistant display, patented ESD protection and LED ring lights.
