Vibration-free groove turning process
Adjustable damped boring bar
Paul Horn is exhibiting innovations and product enhancements at the EMO in Hanover. Among other things, the company is exhibiting a boring bar that can be adjusted to the vibration amplitudes that occur.
The damper, which consists of a hard metal rod mounted in O-rings, is adjusted from the outside using a screw; the adjustment is made by adjusting the pre-tension of the O-rings. The precise adjustment of the damping element enables a vibration-free grooving process. This results in a better surface quality without chatter marks and an increase in tool life. In addition to tool solutions, processes and exhibits, the focus at the trade fair stand will also be on consultation in order to find the optimum cutting solution in dialog with customers.
