Seminar series "Automation on Tour" 2019

Mara Hofacker,

Fresh knowledge for machine safety

Keeping knowledge of machinery safety up to date - that has been the aim of Pilz's "Automation on Tour" series of events for 10 years. In its anniversary year, the organizer has added new topics to the proven seminars "Safe Automation", "Safe Operation of Plant and Machinery" and the "Safe Motion" workshop. In 2019, the free seminars will take place at over 60 locations across Germany.

In the "Safe automation" seminar, participants learn how variable machine and plant values can be monitored safely. In addition to presenting areas of application and normative regulations, the Pilz experts will demonstrate how hazardous situations are divided into levels, the so-called Performance Level (PL). The necessary PL is then implemented using various system architectures. Using a practical example, solutions for monitoring a safely reduced speed and analog variables are presented and verified in accordance with standard specifications.

Machine safety for operators

The seminar "Safe operation of machines and systems" focuses on how operators can put the requirements for machine safety into practice. The focus is on the basics of the German Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health with regard to the operation of machinery as well as current requirements in the context of maintenance. Using practical examples, participants will learn the individual steps of safety assessment, implementation of tests, evaluation of the state of the art and conversions of machines.

Safe Motion" workshop: practical learning

The "Safe Motion" workshop also offers a strong practical focus: the task is to safely implement an automatic, robot-assisted feeding of material into a joining device. The Pilz experts will work with the participants to commission the individual functions step by step. The safety-related process is carried out together in accordance with DIN EN 13849, the robot is taught in, the safety controller is parameterized and verification is carried out. The workshops take place in small groups so that an intensive exchange is possible.
