Sharma has already held several management positions in the areas of commerce, strategy, marketing and M&A. In his previous role, he drove the company's edge computing strategy, among other things.

"Pankaj is well prepared for new challenges as he has been successful in the Secure Power business for 19 years and has already been at home in various parts of the world," says Philippe Delorme, Executive Vice President, Energy Management. "I congratulate him and thank Dave Johnson for his outstanding legacy. For 27 years, Dave Johnson has dedicated himself to the success of APC and the Secure Power Division of Schneider Electric. As a key pillar in our organization, Dave has fostered a customer-centric approach and a bold attitude to continually reinvent a company that has gone through many changes."

With his extensive expertise, Johnson will continue to support the transition of Secure Power's leadership team in 2020, initially as an employee of the company, then as an independent consultant.
"Resilient systems in the cloud and at the edge are a key enabler for an inclusive digital world. It is an honor to take the helm for the Secure Power Division at this critical time," said Sharma. "In my new role, I will continue to drive our mission to ensure that life goes on in the digital world and that we help build a sustainable future for our planet."

Under Johnson's leadership, Secure Power is a high-performing and industry-leading business unit that provides comprehensive physical infrastructure solutions for data centers, distributed IT environments and industrial applications. Johnson has led global functions including strategy, commercial operations, marketing, R&D, supply chain, finance and human resources. He has led commercially significant teams in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

"I want to thank Dave for his commitment, and I know that Schneider Electric is well positioned to lead the industry with breakthrough innovations because of his leadership," Sharma emphasized. "My goal is to continue to raise the bar in Secure Power by operating with the highest possible energy efficiency, cultivating a growth mindset and continuing to take a global and diverse team approach."
