Tomonori Morimura, who relocated from Japan to Europe for the new position of Application Center General Manager, heads the new facility based in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands. He says: "Omron Electronic Components Europe 's goal is to maximize the customer value of the Electronic Components Division. Our new application center will contribute to this goal. Firstly, it will enable our development teams to gain a deeper and more fundamental understanding of the current and future business needs and product requirements of our customers in the region in order to effectively align roadmaps accordingly. Secondly, it increases engineering support in Europe, enabling even faster responses to customer needs and requests. The approach is to work closely with the customer through 'Design in Activity' to provide component and module solutions based on Omron technology."

The application center focuses on four important and growing markets - energy, automation, healthcare and mobility - and will offer pioneering technologies for these. It integrates the functions of business development, product marketing, field application engineering and marketing communication and coordinates application-oriented sales activities with the marketing strategy. The Application Center underpins Omron's focus on high quality and contributes to improving logistics and delivery times through production flexibility. Finally, it will also serve to strengthen and enhance Omron's core technologies and ensure that they are fit for purpose and applicable to the markets.
