Workpiece carrier
Process improved
Pasture fencing technology can be used to keep elephants in check and protect flocks of sheep from wolves. Such solutions are part of Horizont's regular product range. The company in Korbach, Hesse, has optimized its processes for efficient production.
In the final assembly of pasture fencing devices and lights, the specialists rely on a workpiece carrier transport system from Stein Automation. Up to twice as many components are now assembled per shift as before, and the ergonomics for the employees have improved noticeably, thanks to a height compensation unit, among other things. The system can also be expanded at any time thanks to its modularity. It was also necessary to implement variable conveyor speeds with energy-efficient operation.
The system is controlled by Stein Control. The user can freely select and deselect workstations - depending on the product variant. The system also incorporates the Softmove system developed by Stein, which ensures that the components are transported gently and quickly. At Horizont, the cycle times per work step are 25 seconds. Throughput times have improved significantly. pb
