Workplace systems
Three questions for... Dirk Jonsson
Focus on people. Employees need to feel comfortable at work. Dirk Jonsson, Managing Director of Treston, explains how this can be achieved, even with different requirements.
Health and the feel-good factor play an important role in the workplace today. How do you meet these ergonomic requirements at Treston?
When developing our products, the focus is always on people, which is why we work with our customers to develop solutions for an ergonomically designed workstation. Short reach distances, optimized material provision, individual adjustment options and good workplace lighting play a key role here. We also offer our customers the opportunity to take part in our free workshops several times a year, for example on the subject of ergonomics and lighting at the workplace.
Not all workstations are the same, and they are often not used by one person alone but in shifts. How do you help your customers find the right option?
Together with our customers, we analyze the current situation and carry out an on-site assessment. We then recommend to our customer, for example, electrically height-adjustable work tables with a memory function that allows the table height to be set individually and easily recalled at any time for each employee. This means that one and the same work table can be used by employees of different sizes without any problems, even during shift work.
Keyword networking: can worker workstations in the factory be integrated into smart production and logistics environments in the future, and what trends do you see for the coming years?
We have been working very successfully with Magdeburg's Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF for several years now. For example, the "worker assistance system" has already been integrated into Treston workstations used in production and logistics. We assume that this trend will prevail and make significant progress in the coming years.
