Automatic drill alignment
The new RM-1000 straightening machine from Föhrenbach is a highly automated special machine for straightening deep-hole drills. The advantages of automated straightening are significant: the scrap rate is demonstrably lower with automated straightening.
The software-supported control of the straightening process also ensures continuous quality independent of the respective processor. The RM-1000 machines drills up to a maximum length of 1,000 millimetres, the accuracy of the straightening process is 0.01 millimetres. An integrated machine learning program evaluates the last 30 straightening processes for a workpiece based on a material database and automatically adjusts the dynamics of all four or six axes for the next machining process.
Another automation option available for the RM-1000 is a robot cell for loading and unloading the drills. The drills are housed in a space-saving drawer system that can be filled during operation. This option enables unmanned operation at night and at weekends, for example. The robot cell is mobile and can be uncoupled at any time so that manual processes are also possible.
