Small exoskeletons

Gentle on thumbs and joints

Ottobock presented its industrial exoskeletons from the Paexo product family for the first time at the Hannover Messe. The Paexo Thumb supports people who use their thumbs every day at work, for example when clipping, inserting and plugging in assembly.

The small and very lightweight exoskeleton relieves the thumb by up to 70 percent by transferring forces to the entire hand. This protects the thumb joints and protects the tip of the thumb from mechanical impact. The user also automatically adopts an ergonomic hand position with Paexo Thumb. The new Paexo Wrist, on the other hand, supports the wrist when lifting and holding heavy objects. Ottobock Industrials has derived Paexo Wrist from a medical product that treats wrist inflammation, for example. In industrial applications, it is used preventively to protect the sensitive wrist. Applications include holding cutting and welding equipment or moving or assembling generators or starters. as
