Smart dispensing machine

This vending machine has everything under control: Valuable tools or equipment are safely stored in the drawer compartment. An electromechanically locked metal flap grants access only to those who can authenticate themselves using their ID card or PIN.

Goods are scanned into the system using a barcode scanner. The TSM checks stock levels, orders automatically and thus prevents machine downtimes, for example. (Photo: Bedrunka + Hirth)

The machine knows exactly who it is allowed to give a measuring device to and when it needs to be calibrated. It knows how often a cutter has been removed and when the stock is running low. It then independently orders a new one, informs the accounts department of the expected costs and sends a barcode to the parcel service, which is used to assign the replacement to the correct drawer in the warehouse precisely and directly.

This Tool Server Modular (TSM) is an intelligent small parts storage system and tool dispenser at the same time, developed and manufactured by the factory equipment specialist Bedrunka + Hirth. According to the manufacturer, users now confirm that the precise output control alone reduces consumption by 20 to 30 percent. On the software side, the Windows interface is designed to impress with various interfaces, for example to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, merchandise management and SQL databases. Multi-vendor capability is no problem for the filler service. pb
