Wago platform for 3D printing ideas celebrates its birthday
3D printing is in vogue. This is also demonstrated by the digital think tank and 3D printing community Wago Creators. It is celebrating its second birthday this year. Since then, the online community has grown to almost 4,000 users - time for a look back.
In 2020, the idea of developing a think tank and 3D printing community exclusively for Wago accessory solutions was born. "In our experience, there are many of these ideas specifically for Wago products out there that are worth bundling, sharing with others, discussing together, improving where necessary and realizing," said Ann-Christin Rachuba, Vice President Business Unit Interconnection Building at Wago, at the market launch. When it comes to designing products for special applications, designers should be able to share their ideas and find inspiration here. Other users in turn have the option of downloading these design ideas and printing them out on a 3D printer or ordering them directly as prototypes. After a few months of development, this idea became Wago Creators.
The platform is growing and growing
This platform has been open to everyone since April 2021. Numerous accessory solutions have been shared with the community, downloaded and printed out. "Not only has the community grown, but so has the platform itself," explains Ann-Christin Rachuba. Community features such as sharing ideas via social media, personal user profiles and showing your own "makes" - accessory solutions downloaded and printed by users - in the comments are now possible. In addition, users can now upload their accessory solutions not only in STL format, but also in .3mf, .FCStd, .obj and .stp. "The new file formats simplify the further development of existing accessory solutions. This gives users even more options and room for creativity," explains Rachuba.
In addition to practical accessory solutions such as mounting aids, wall brackets and top-hat rail adapters, Wago Creators also offers great everyday items. These include, for example, a key holder and a terminal block dispenser. The 3D printing community can be found at
