Trade fairs
Great interest in additive manufacturing
More than 2,500 guests learned about future developments in industrial 3D printing at the 18th Rapid.Tech 3D congress and trade fair.
The trade fair took place in Erfurt from May 17 to 19, 2022. Visitors learned about new additive manufacturing (AM) products and services from 97 exhibitors from eleven countries. 13 companies came to Thuringia from abroad, including companies from the USA, the UK, Austria and Switzerland. The congress was very well received by visitors. More guests were registered here than at the last Live Congress in 2019.
Visitors experienced the extensive possibilities of additive manufacturing not only in the keynotes and forums at the specialist congress, but also at the exhibitors' stands. The haptic experience was of particular importance at the Swiss start-up Spectroplast, as it was only by touching the 3D-printed medical products made of silicone that the young Swiss company's achievements became clear. With their material and process expertise, they make silicone printing of this quality possible in the first place.
Printed machine tool
The mobile machine from 1A Technologies was also frequently touched. The young company from Saxony claims to have produced the first 3D-printed machine tool that combines additive and subtractive processing. At 45 kilograms, it is half the weight of its counterpart with a metal body. The exhibitors reported almost unanimously that there were many knowledgeable visitors from industry - from large corporations to the smallest companies, who often came to the stands with very specific questions.
The next Rapid.Tech 3D will take place in Erfurt from May 9 to 11, 2023
