Bosch invests in 3D printers from Ultimaker
Printer specialist Ultimaker has announced that Robert Bosch GmbH will invest in Ultimaker 3 Extended printers worldwide.
After comparing several desktop 3D printers, Bosch's Additive Manufacturing department chose Ultimaker as the most reliable, user-friendly and professional device. The printers will be used at various locations in Germany, Hungary, China, India, the United States and Mexico to print prototypes, tooling, assembly jigs and fixtures to drive innovation while reducing manufacturing and design costs.
Bosch, whose strategic goal is to deliver innovations for a connected world, is the world's largest automotive supplier and a major provider of industrial technologies, consumer goods, energy and building technology. To save time and costs and accelerate time-to-market for new products, the company decided to invest in desktop 3D printing globally. By choosing Ultimaker, all of Bosch's additive manufacturing departments can now benefit from a unified 3D printing solution with materials, training and global support. This approach ensures consistent and high-quality 3D printing results across different teams and locations.
"We are very pleased that this respected, leading provider of technology and services has chosen our desktop 3D printers after an intensive selection process by the Additive Manufacturing department," says Jos Burger, CEO of Ultimaker. "The Ultimaker team is working hard to make 3D printing easily accessible by continuously improving our hardware, software, materials and services. This global investment from Bosch confirms that our 3D printing ecosystem is capable of driving innovation on a global scale. The quality and speed of our service is the same in all countries. And that helps our customers go from idea to manufacturing validation in just a few days, no matter where they are in the world." kp
