PolyJet 3D printing service

3D printing service in PolyJet technology

Protolabs now also offers PolyJet and silicone 3D printing. This technology allows the production of prototypes with elastomeric properties and is therefore an ideal addition to the development of 2K injection molded parts. Product developers can use PolyJet to produce 3D printed parts that consist of elastomeric and rigid materials and have multiple colors. The material selection includes various degrees of hardness. The parts are characterized by smooth surfaces and can have complex geometries with bendable features.

As with other 3D printing processes, the parts are built up in layers. The machine sprays droplets of liquid photopolymers onto the build platform, which are then cured with UV light. Once the part has been built up, the support structures are removed. The part is then finished and requires no further surface treatment. Protolabs will be showcasing its latest additive manufacturing services at this year's Rapid.Tech with Multi Jet Fusion as well as PolyJet and silicone 3D printing. am
