Robots and their areas of application
Robots are becoming increasingly popular in a wide variety of applications. In industry, they have become an integral part of intelligent, networked production and assembly.

The company Dr. Tretter is exhibiting tolerance sleeves at Motek. The slotted sheet metal sleeves with beads are embossed like wave crests. Made from stainless spring strip steel, they can withstand temperatures of up to 250 °C.

The workspaces of humans and robots are increasingly merging into a collaborative workspace. This calls for robots that can be adapted to different scenarios.

TM Robotics has presented the new industrial robots from Toshiba Machine. These include the SCARA robots from the THL series with arm lengths between 300 and 1,200 mm.

Dematic has expanded its portfolio with a robot arm for automated picking. The "Robot Piece Picking Module" independently selects individual items, lifts them and transports them to the designated bins.

The automation company Pilz is also focusing on a new, modular range for service robotics in 2018.
