Has everything already been invented in connection technology? Absolutely not, disagrees Georg Stawowy, Director of Technology and Innovation at Lapp.

Every day, sensors around the world generate billions of pieces of data - and the trend is rising. Single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology offers new opportunities to transmit these data streams reliably and quickly, even in the smallest areas of the machine.

Lapp is expanding its range of active components with additional switches for industrial applications. The Etherline Access Switches are available in different versions with four to 16 ports, also in combination with ports for fiber optics and as a variant with Power over Ethernet.

The Ethernet I/O modules of the WISE-7500 series from Spectra are configured via a browser and eliminate the need for a PLC or host PC with control software that requires complex programming.

Data, network and bus technology
In the 12th edition of the "Data, Network & Bus Technology" catalog, Helukabel presents its expanded product portfolio in these areas.

Phoenix Contact, Weidmüller, Reichle & De-Massari, Belden and Fluke Networks are developing coordinated components for Single Pair Ethernet.

Interview with Stefan Hoppe, OPC Foundation

Complex manufacturing processes require intelligent systems that need to communicate with each other in real time. For this case, Schmalz has equipped the SCTMi compact terminal with an Ethernet interface.

Belden has launched a complete solution for the configuration and use of TSN in Industrial Ethernet networks. This solution from Hirschmann combines the TSN firmware versions of the Industrial Ethernet switches with the Industrial HiVision 8.0 network management software.

Remote I/O system for Ethernet
Stahl presents the IS1+ remote I/O system for explosion-protected field Ethernet. It enables Ethernet communication in hazardous areas via Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP.
