Better visibility in poor light
The American manufacturer Flir Systems has launched a new camera module for the visible light spectrum.
The USB3 camera is the first to feature the new Sony Pregius S IMX540 sensor with 24.5 megapixel resolution at 12 frames per second. The features of the Blackfly S, combined with the high megapixel resolution of the IMX540 and fast image processing, enable technicians and scientists to inspect more components with fewer cameras in less time.
With a pixel pitch of 2.74 micrometers and backlighting, the Pregius S sensor has almost twice the pixel density of previous Pregius sensors and enables the construction of more cost-effective and compact lenses. With the Blackfly S, production lines can be run faster without sacrificing inspection quality. The Blackfly S is also characterized by high quantum efficiency and low read noise. This enables shorter exposure times, so that even less powerful light sources are sufficient. This saves on lighting costs. dsc
