The manufacturer of industrial sensor and automation technology was awarded both the "Germany's Best Family Business" certificate and the "Factory of the Future" award.

The Belgian subsidiary of the Jumo Group has been recognized as a "Factory of the Future" by the "Digital Wallonia" initiative. This means that JumoAutomation in Eupen is one of four companies that will be allowed to bear this coveted seal for the next three years.

The aim of "Digital Wallonia" is to bring together public and private stakeholders to drive forward Wallonia's digital transformation. The "Factory of the Future" award is given to companies that have the necessary agility to respond to rapidly changing market demands and are particularly open to new business models.

In order to receive the seal, companies must go through a selection process in which they are assessed according to the seven pillars of transformation. These include advanced manufacturing technologies, a networked production environment, ecological aspects and consideration of the needs of employees.

"The 'Factory of the Future' award is the best proof of the success of the numerous projects we have tackled in recent years with regard to the digital transformation. Something like this is only possible with committed employees who are open to the future and make a permanent contribution to optimizing all processes," emphasizes Bruno Radermacher, Managing Director of JumoAutomation in Eupen. "At the same time, this award is an incentive for us to continue on our path to becoming a 'smart factory'."

In addition, the F.A.Z. Institute of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung publishing group awarded Jumo the "Germany's Best Family Business" certificate. This makes Jumo one of only 770 companies in Germany to receive the seal this year.

The areas evaluated were products and service, innovation, sustainability, profitability, management performance and assessment as an employer. Jumo is one of 18 companies in the "Suppliers of measurement technology" sector to receive the certificate.

For Jumo Managing Directors Bernhard and Michael Juchheim and Dimitrios Charisiadis, the F.A.Z. Institute certificate is proof of the success of the company's long-term policy: "We are not focusing on the fastest possible sales growth, but on sustainable development, in which securing and creating jobs plays a central role," emphasizes Bernhard Juchheim. This strategic focus has also proven its worth in the current corona crisis.
