Sick strengthens its Management Board
Sick AG has had a new Management Board member since the beginning of the year. The Supervisory Board intends to strengthen growth with this appointment. The 48-year-old Dr. Tosja Zywietz joins the sensor manufacturer's Management Board with responsibility for "Operations". The company intends to consolidate production-related functions, including purchasing and quality, at Management Board level in this department.
Tosja Zywietz has held positions of responsibility at the Bavarian technology company Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik since 2009, most recently as Chairman of the Executive Board.
Zywietz was born in Hanover in 1971 and obtained his doctorate in theoretical physics at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society after studying at the University of Göttingen and in the USA. At Sick, he will strengthen the existing Management Board under the chairmanship of Dr. Robert Bauer and will be responsible for the company's operational business. By integrating purchasing, production and quality into one department, the aim is to achieve an even more direct customer focus in future and to respond more quickly to market developments.
"The Sick Group has doubled its turnover since 2011 and expanded globally, while the complexity of production and delivery processes has also increased. The Operations division continues to gain in importance in order to optimize Sick's already very high quality standards with efficient processes and to be active close to the customer worldwide," explains Klaus Bukenberger, Chairman of Sick's Supervisory Board.
"We are delighted to welcome Dr. Tosja Zywietz to the Management Board, who brings with him in-depth professional expertise and an understanding of the values of a family business with long-term operations. The strengthening of the Management Board in terms of personnel and expertise will ensure the positive development of the Sick Group in the long term."
