For every room height
Sensors detect light and movement
Tridonic has launched a series of sensors that detect movement and ambient light. They are compatible with standard Dali 2 control units and can be integrated into lighting and building management systems.
The third-generation multi-sensors for detecting movement and ambient light were developed in accordance with the IEC 62386-103 standard and are therefore tailored to Dali 2 control units. The sensors work with passive infrared technology (PIR) and react to changing thermal radiation in the detection area.
They are available in three versions: MSensor G3 SFI 5DPI (low-bay), G3 SFI 30 10DPI WH (mid-bay) and G3 SFI 30 16DPI WH (high-bay), each as a recessed version or with an additional surface-mounted housing. The small form factor of the recessed versions allows unobtrusive integration into the luminaire. Depending on the version and application, the surface-mounted versions achieve protection class IP 66 (mid-bay) or IP65 (high-bay).
All versions combine motion and ambient light sensors in one housing and are suitable for various indoor and outdoor applications thanks to their different mounting heights and detection ranges. A remote control interface, which is also integrated into the housing and can be addressed via infrared remote controls, allows individual control of the respective luminaires.
Suitable for any height
The low-bay sensors are designed for low room heights of up to five meters. They detect movements at an angle of 84 degrees and ambient light from 10 to 650 lx. Their detection diameter depends on the room height and ranges from three to nine meters, which corresponds to areas of seven to around 64 square meters. According to the manufacturer, the sensors are particularly suitable for offices and classrooms.

The mid-bay sensors are particularly suitable for medium room heights of five to ten meters, for example in retail and industrial areas. They detect movements at an angle of 72 degrees and ambient light from 0.5 to 2,000 lx. The detection diameter is between seven and 14 meters, depending on the room height, and the detected area is between 38.5 and 154 square meters.
For great heights of up to 18 meters, for example in logistics or industrial halls, the high-bay sensors are the method of choice. They can be adjusted to different mounting heights (eight to twelve meters or twelve to 18 meters) and detect movements at an angle of 60 degrees or 72 degrees (at low mounting heights) and ambient light from 1 to 2,000 lx, depending on the mounting height. The detection diameters are between twelve and 21 meters, and the area covered is between 113 and 346 square meters.
All sensors have been developed in accordance with the IEC 62386-103 standard and are therefore prepared for certification by the DiiA. The sensors are compatible with standard control units for Dali installations in accordance with EN 62386-101 Edition 2 and can therefore be easily integrated into lighting management systems. as
