Sensor+Test 2021
Real, virtual and hybrid
According to the organizers, the Sensor+Test trade fair will take place from 4 to 6 May 2021 in real and virtual form.
"Even if experts were not able to meet for an intensive exchange of ideas at the world's most important industrial trade fair for sensor and measurement technology this year, Sensor+Test is and remains the leading trade fair for the industry," says Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of AMA Service GmbH, with conviction. He and his team are already planning the next event, which will open its doors from May 4 to 6, 2021 and invite exhibitors and visitors to the exhibition grounds in Nuremberg for a dialogue on innovation. The trade fair will be hybrid and feature a new "Digital Area".
In the supporting program, the special topic "Sensors and measurement technology for condition monitoring", which was already planned for 2020, will take place one year later than planned. The organizers and exhibitor advisory board have jointly decided on this, as the topic was very well received by the exhibitors and the 2020 theme stand was already fully booked early on. The second highlight is the presence and digital premiere of the SMSI - Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference, which will begin the day before Sensor+Test and will be opened together with the presentation of the AMA Innovation Award.
"The upcoming event promises to be of a high quality again, even if we as organizers will certainly have to assume a somewhat more compact trade fair due to the coronavirus," says Holger Bödeker. It remains to be seen whether international visitors will be allowed to visit Germany in May 2021. "We will therefore adapt Sensor+Test to the current circumstances and ensure that both exhibitors and visitors can look back on three days of the trade fair with satisfaction and find a permanently available, modern platform for exchange." The basis for this is provided by a three-part concept that extends the face-to-face event into the digital world.
In real life, the personal contact that is indispensable for exhibitors and visitors will take place on the exhibition grounds. The focus will be on year-round, continuous digital communication between exhibitors and visitors, as already started in 2020, giving all participants of Sensor+Test 2021, whether in person on site or digitally on the Internet, the opportunity to interact with each other across the board.
Digital Area promotes dialog
Exhibitors benefit from the new format of Sensor+Test. By booking a stand, they automatically take part in the digital trade fair. This has the advantage of reaching both visitors in Nuremberg and digital participants worldwide. In addition, their digital presence will be available to visitors until the end of 2021. The offer is rounded off by the new "Digital Area" - without the obligation, but with the opportunity to be on site. In this area, companies can present themselves to the interested public in a variety of ways - via multimedia presentations of new products, chats and video chats with trade fair visitors or via presentations and discussion panels. "By participating in the Digital Area, exhibitors are not taking any risks and are securing all opportunities," Holger Bödeker is convinced.
"Despite the economic challenges and social changes that will continue to accompany us in the coming months, we want to maintain communication between exhibitors, scientists and visitors - via the modern channels that are available to us today. This is what Sensor+Test stands for in the coming year and in the future," summarizes Holger Bödeker.
