Final report
Sensor+Test 2019 successfully completed
After three sweltering days, the Sensor+Test measurement technology trade fair in Nuremberg closed its doors. Despite record temperatures outside, around 7,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad made their way into the exhibition halls.
As usual, the number of exhibitors was down on the previous year at 538. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad remained unchanged at around 40 percent. On around 18,000 square meters of exhibition space, this year's special theme of the trade fair - sensors and measurement technology for process automation - was discussed at the trade fair stands and in the lecture forums. Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of the organizing AMA Service, commented: "The two exhibitor forums in the exhibition halls, which are freely accessible to visitors, are increasingly becoming real crowd pullers."
The accompanying 20th GMA/ITG Symposium on Sensors and Measurement Systems 2019 was also very well attended, despite overlapping dates with other international conferences, as confirmed by the scientific congress management. The open congress session on "Citizen Science with Sensors - Sensor Technology for Citizen Science", which was offered for the first time and free of charge for all trade fair visitors, was also well received.
New exhibition hall, new international congress
Next year, Sensor+Test will take place from June 23 to 25, 2020 in Halls 1, 2 and Hall 3C. Holger Bödeker comments: "Exhibitors and visitors can already be excited. We expect the new, ultra-modern Hall 3C to provide an even more attractive layout of the exhibition stands for high efficiency in the interests of our trade fair visitors."
Sensor+Test 2020 - with the special topic "Sensors and measurement technology for condition monitoring" - will once again be accompanied by the ettc2020 - European Test and Telemetry Conference in Hall 2. The new international specialist congress SMSI 2020 - Sensor and Measurement Science International will take place at the same time for the first time. as
