Sensor+Test 2018 came to a successful close with record numbers of exhibitors. From 2019, the accompanying trade congresses will alternate in a new structure and in a new cycle.

With 591 exhibitors (previous year: 569), Sensor+Test 2018 recorded the highest number of exhibitors in the last ten years. The proportion of international companies (now 237, compared to 210 in 2017) even rose to an all-time high of 40%. In contrast, the total number of trade fair visitors fell slightly to 7,879 (previous year: 8,107).

The exhibitors were largely satisfied. The early booking phase for 2019 has already begun. The organizer therefore recommends that anyone who wants to secure their preferred place should book soon.

Reorganization of the congresses
From 2020, the previous AMA congresses Sensor and IRS2 will be incorporated into the new international conference SMSI 2020 - Sensor and Measurement Science International. For this reason, Sensor+Test will already be accompanied next year by the 20th GMA/ITG Symposium Sensors and Measurement Systems 2019. Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of the organizing AMA Service, explains: "The SMSI ideally complements the topics of the AMA congresses Sensor and IRS2 in the fields of scientific measurement technology and metrology. Both conferences thus cover the technology spectrum offered at the trade fair and guarantee suppliers and users well-founded insights into future-relevant research results."
