AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement
Sales and order situation stable in Q2
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement surveyed its approximately 450 members on economic developments in the second quarter.
According to its own figures, the industry generated turnover of plus 1% in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the second quarter of 2021, the turnover of AMA members increased by 9%. Members also recorded a 1% increase in incoming orders in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter.
The slight increase in sales is roughly the same for large and small AMA members. Sales to the electronics sector developed above average, while sales to the automotive sector remain difficult, particularly for small and medium-sized companies. However, the mood in the industry remains positive, with AMA members expecting an overall increase in turnover of 4% for the third quarter. Given the positive order trend, short-time working is no longer an issue in the industry.
"Despite the uncertainties in the political environment, our industry is currently generating growth in turnover and recording an increase in incoming orders," says Thomas Simmons, AMA Managing Director. "Despite ongoing delivery difficulties, our industry was able to significantly increase sales in the first half of the year and is expecting a positive trend for the current quarter."
