Angle sensors
Robust sensors in mobile use
Mobile machinery and industrial trucks place very high demands on sensor technology due to their operating environment.
In addition to reliable function under harsh operating conditions, other properties are often required, such as compact dimensions when installation space is limited, suitability for safety-relevant applications, and the cost factor also plays an important role. Novotechnik has developed three series of magnetic angle sensors based on the same electronic design specifically for such requirements.
The magnetic angle sensors in the RFC-4800 series are compact, easy to install thanks to the separate position encoder and detect the angle of rotation over 360° with a resolution of up to 14 bits. They are also available with a CANopen or CAN-SAE J1939 interface especially for use in commercial vehicles. Depending on the interface, additional sensor functions such as parameterizable direction of rotation, position offset and a (volatile) revolution counter are also available. The position and speed signals are output on one or two channels. The sensors can withstand oscillations and vibrations up to 20 g (in accordance with IEC 600658-2-6) and shocks up to 50 g (in accordance with IEC 68068-2-27) and meet all EMC specifications required in mobile applications. The high requirements of the ECE-R10 regulation on electromagnetic compatibility are exceeded. They can be used at ambient temperatures between -40 and 105 °C and meet the requirements of protection class IP67 or IP6K9K.
The magnetic angle sensors in the RSA-3200 and RFE-3200 series are available in both a shaft version (RSA) and a non-contact version with a separate position encoder (RFE). They have been specially developed for high-temperature applications up to 125 °C and offer industry-standard contacting with the MicroQuadlock connector.
