Reliable 3D electronics inspection

When it comes to making the quality control of components in the electronics industry even more reliable, precision in detecting the smallest defects is a top priority.

To optimize precisely this inspection process, AT - Automation Technology has equipped its 3D sensors with special features and enables a new level of inspection with its new C6 series. Gone are the days when the customer only had to rely on 3D point clouds. The decisive new function here is MultiPart, which allows up to ten different features to be output simultaneously, regardless of the pixel format or algorithm.

In addition to the information about different peaks (MultiPeak), which is often indispensable for suppressing secondary reflections of the laser line, MultiPart provides the customer with additional data such as reflectance, scatter or confidence. As a result, it is not only possible to create a photorealistic representation of the
photorealistic representation of the inspection object instead of a simple point cloud, it also makes it easy to implement 2D inspection tasks such as character recognition or the inspection of QR codes.

And all this according to the latest GenICam3D standard and in the form of a
Plug&Play principle, which not only enables greater precision, but also significantly speeds up application development. The new 3D sensors in the C6 series therefore offer innovative and high-precision features that represent a major advantage, particularly when testing electronic components.
